Everything you need to know before your Cupid's Bow treatment.

Lips are a sensitive area, but we use multiple techniques to minimise discomfort: numbing cream applied before treatment, and most filler products already contain a local anaesthetic. Our doctors also use precision placement techniques that significantly reduce any sensation of pain.

Our philosophy is minimal filler, maximum result. Most patients achieve their ideal shape with 0.5ml — significantly less than the 1ml commonly used at other clinics. This is by design: less product, placed strategically, creates a far more natural result than large volumes of filler.

Some swelling is normal for 2–3 days post-treatment. Avoid touching the area for 4 hours, don't wear makeup on the lips for 4 hours, avoid alcohol for 24 hours, strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and heat sources (sauna, hot drinks, direct sun) for 72 hours. Full integration happens over 2 weeks — this is when you'll see your final result.

You can return to work the same day. Unlike surgical procedures, lip filler requires no significant downtime. Some patients experience mild swelling for the first 2–3 days, but this is generally subtle and manageable. We recommend not booking treatment the day before an important event — allow at least 2 weeks.

Results typically last between 12–14 months. Because we use a thinner-texture premium filler and place it with precision, the product integrates naturally without migration — meaning results remain looking clean and natural throughout the duration, not just immediately after treatment.

Flying can increase chances of swelling — it's not a problem but we recommend travelling with ice to manage it. For big events like weddings, we strongly advise booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance so any swelling has fully settled and any follow-up can be addressed beforehand.
